新山拉庆巴士总站 Larkin Sentral

南马大城市新山的长途巴士转换站在拉庆Larkin ,近几年逐渐翻新后,逐渐变得比较舒适。

车站旁边有座市场/巴刹,是连着巴士总站的。以前印象中看起来湿嗒嗒,敬而远之的。

翻新后,在等候北往巴士开车的时候,我都爱到市场建筑那里看看民生。

所以就发现了市场顶楼有个美食閣,分为华人食物区与马来食物区(只是食物符不符合清真要求),上次就介绍了给archisteem 大腿 @kimzwarch 让他清晨抵达新山时有个吃早餐的好地方。(其实自己也想知道早上的巴刹有没美食)


市场还蛮干净的,而且摊位也开得蛮迟的,我下午四点在那里闲逛,几乎每摊都还在开,没有收档的迹象。

这水果摊好像专卖香蕉🍌一样,还有一些红毛榴莲。

有点意外的是,里面还蛮多华人摊贩的。

底楼的另一边是卖干货的,我看到许多卖虾饼鱼饼等本地小吃,大家刚好来这里转车到新加坡,可以买些手信给朋友。


二楼则是裁缝店为主,很多小店替人修改衣服。

还看到一些马来婚礼的装饰品专卖店,个人觉得外地朋友应该会感到很有趣。

再给大家一个贴士,靠近裁缝店那里的公厕是不收费的,而且卫生程度分分钟好过给三毛钱、地点较靠近巴士总站的公厕。

能在等候巴士的时候,闲逛走走看看有趣的事物。

Ipoh Kong Heng Restaurant


Thinking of Ipoh food, most people maybe would recommend to try out the Ipoh Sprout (Taukeh) Chicken. But my memory about Ipoh is slightly different- I miss the Ipoh noodle the most.

Hence when I travel to Ipoh recently, first stop for food hunt I already plan to try out the Ipoh Chicken Noodle.

If you read food bloggers' posts, most of them would ask to try out the one on the left, Thean Chun. My first choice was this also, but the time when I reached there, the whole restaurant was full of customers waiting for this chicken noodle.

I do not want to waste my precious time waiting in Ipoh, so I opt for the one next to it- Ipoh Kong Heng for the chicken noodle.

To me, the most attractive part of Ipoh Noodle is the noodle itself, aside from the soup taste.

Guessing that the noodle supplier to both the restaurants mostly are the same. I decided to give the stall next shop a try , and it proved this theory really works!

Their noodle is super smooth and it's fully same taste as the one I ate back then in my childhood time.

Kong Heng Restaurant interior- not fully, so if you are solo traveller as I did, this shop could best serve your purpose of getting a nice Ipoh Chicken Noodle.


Served by an old uncle, this stall I guess should be at least around 20years +.

And one more thing must try in this Kong Heng Restaurant is their steamed egg. It's a traditional style dessert back then and not easily found elsewhere nowaday. Together with the Ipoh Iced White Coffee, I bet Kong Heng really deserved to pay a visit.


After meal, do remember to walk around Kong Heng as well, I found their side windows were very story-telling.

Deen CT Corner Cendol, Ipoh Malaysia


The weather in Malaysia recently is super duper hot, and especially during the day when I travelled to Ipoh for a short trip

When I was explopring the old town of Ipoh, so hot that I kept having to walk until the shed. Let alone sweat like nobody business during the day trip in this part of town.


Until I walked to this corner of the Ipoh town, I found savior to my day- Cendol , the favourite dessert of Malaysian during the hot days.

Seeing so many locals flocking to this little stall by the road side, I knew this ought to be some kind of tasty and recommended food by the Ipoh locals. So I joined the crowd in getting one bowl cendol for myself too and it proved my judgement was very true that it gotta be a good one.

The stall was run by a couple of Indian Muslim. I enjoy the moment having my tasty cendol while watching the stall owner chit-chatiing with the customers who obsviously thier loyal customers- as they talked about kids exam etc.

I ordered the cendol with red bean topup, it costs me RM3.

Having a cendol during a super hot day like this is really enjoyable. Felt lucky to have bumped into this cendol stall of locals favourite.

怡保点心街 Ipoh Dimsum Street

最近去了一趟怡保出席朋友的婚宴,所以有一天时间呆在怡保游玩。那来到怡保这美食天堂,早餐不计划一个点心餐也真说不过去。

在怡保新街场,有条街有着许多点心店,堪称点心一条街。

网上与朋友的资料都说明阁是怡保当地人最喜爱的点心楼。周末的时候简直就是人山人海,一位难求。


考虑到我是自己一人前往点心早餐,本来是打算到明阁对面的富山茶楼吃点心,那里是比较豪华大间,我一人前去比较容易有位子。

我老早就抵达了,早上六点三就搭Grab到那里,下车却发现明阁里只有一桌一个老人家三盅两件,且边看报纸的。那老天爷简直就是要我到明阁吃点心啊!做了个局给我!肯定要光顾它了!


首先上座的都是我认为最典型的点心食物

早上七点前,其实人潮不多,还以为是周一早上,大伙儿还在周末休息调整中,却在靠近七点时,陆陆续续涌入了许多人,小桌子全都满了。

餐馆里七点后渐渐人多了,自己一人坐一张桌子压力山大,又点了皮蛋粥蒸排骨,不然太早到小型的怡保机场,也是无所事事。

一盅点心价格马币4元至四元半,其实也不太贵,只是份量好像有点小-真正的点心,蜻蜓点水那样。

离开明阁后,去对面富山茶楼看看,只有两桌人客。

强强点心也不强,只有一桌。

發师傅也不發,只有一桌客人。

看来怡保人真的独爱明阁,七点早上就报到了。

Singapore Terminal 4 Peranakan Gallery

When you are travelling out from Singapore via Terminal 4, the previous budget terminal, (Air Asia, Cathay Pacific ), strongly recommend you to pay a visit to the Peranakan Gallery which located near to the level 2 food court.

Peranakan refers to a group of people that migrated to Singapore Malaysia at the very early stages. They are the first batch of imigrant that intergrate their origin culture and local culture and become a special culture. Among this , the culture of Baba Nyonya which is a mixture of local Malay culture with Chinese community is more well known.


The custom of Singapore Airlines SIA, is designed base on Baju Kebaya.

If you ever travel with SIA, you would be impressed by their stewardress custom :

The traditional Baba Nyonya style bed also in gallery for display. (But personally I feel the white lanterns like a bit scary)

Peranakan utensils also of special design and style , looks very attractive , maybe the special design makes Nyonya food looks tastier ?

Some new fashion design based on Nyonya culture, looks attractive right ?

So if you are travelling via Singapore Changi Terminal 4, do spare some 30min to visit this Peranakan Gallery.

新加坡城市农场 Citiponics Singapore

去家附近商场购物时发现这个周末有个特别的摊子,推销新加坡自产的蔬菜,本来不觉得有什么奇怪,因为新加坡的西北方那里是著名的食物生产处-新加坡致力于促进本身粮食的自供自给,虽然还是挺远大的愿景。

可经过摊子的推销海报,发现原来这些蔬菜都是非常“在地”的啊!生产基地就在商场隔壁的一座多层停车场!简直可以说即採就送到商场贩卖了。




他们采用的技术是有机水耕系统 (Aqua Organic System),没使用农药,而且碳足迹是非常少的,因为生产基地就在隔壁楼,收割后直接搬到大卖场就行了。




善用多层停车场空间(顶楼没人喜欢停车因为很晒)作耕种,聘用附近老人院老人为员工,再将蔬菜直接运到商场,感觉这模式一石多鸟呢!等待技术再成熟一些,搞不好多几年后新加坡还能输出蔬菜呢!
